Simone Bloom Nathan has created and implemented many innovative national outreach campaigns over the past 18 years. She has developed educational materials for more than 50 FRONTLINE programs, as well as award-winning documentary films including Promises and Regret to Inform. She has specialized in the areas of early childhood, diversity, and social/emotional development. She has consulted to Discovery Kids’ Ready Set Learn, as well as many PBS children’s series including The Puzzle Place, and Reading Rainbow. She was responsible for the highly successful diversity-focused outreach for the PBS children’s series The Puzzle Place and created the PBS Kids Ready to Learn about Conflict project for parents of young children. She also organized a conference on preschool social and emotional learning, and created the Raising Cain Boys in Focus Training Manual, focusing on boys’ emotional needs. Currently, she is consulting to The Fetzer Institute on the Campaign for Love & Forgiveness, a multi-year outreach campaign featuring three documentaries on love and forgiveness. Her client list includes PBS, Discovery Kids, WGBH, KCET Hollywood, Twin Cities Public Television, MacGillivray Freeman Films and Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Prior to founding Media Education Consultants in 1994, Ms. Bloom Nathan spent six years at WGBH Boston as Assistant Director for Children’s Programming and as Outreach Manager for the station. She also worked as an Associate Producer at Boston's ABC Affiliate station, WCVB-TV. She holds a Masters Degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa.
